These were the words I had written describing a most impressionable experience I had while on a Design in Italy course. By chance, I had come across the Ratti and Paisley exhibit which was paying homage to the art of silk cachemire. This most stunning installation of paisley silks hung from ceiling to floor of the church Chiesa di San Francesco in Como. The exquisite silks billowed throughout the church’s architectural elements of the late 1700s. The experience fascinated me.

Drawing from this inspiration, I began to paint and draw organic images to print on silk, linen and wool as my interest in the various materials developed. Designing for large scale installations and for interior artworks is of particular interest to me.
